Third Thursday with Kaminer Haislip

On Thursday, September 21, the Society was honored to host silversmith, Kaminer Haislip. She presented a talk on the history of Colonial Charleston silversmithing and how it relates to her contemporary silver designs. She described her handcrafted process in which she uses tools and techniques employed by silversmiths for centuries. She even included a history of the Huguenots and their contributions to the skill by highlighting some of the pieces in our collection. Her talk is available here.
